Ben & Jerry’s set to open in Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre

The new development at Burwood Brickworks is aiming to be the most sustainable shopping centre in the world, which aligns with Ben & Jerry’s key values of using sustainable products and pursuing business practises that respect the earth and environment.

Ben & Jerry’s is partnering with Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre to secure a new Scoop Shop franchise location.

Bruce Lambert, Business Development Manager, Ben & Jerry’s ANZ said, “A big part of the way we do business at Ben & Jerry’s is our ‘Social Mission’ – and the opportunity to be a part of the most sustainable retail centre in the world is very exciting.”

“With Ben & Jerry’s being a registered B-Corp, this development is fully aligned to our core values whilst also giving us the opportunity to bring more chunks and swirls to the people of Victoria,” ressures Lambert.

To create the world’s most sustainable retail centre, Burwood Brickworks is using the Living Building Challenge as the framework. This means creating a retail centre that gives more than it takes, one that is self-sufficient, does not exceed the resources of its location and contains socially equitable, culturally rich and ecologically restorative spaces that connect people to light, air, food and community.

The 13,000sqm dining and entertainment precinct will be anchored by a full line Woolworths, 14,00sqm Dan Murphy’s, over 40 specialty shops and a boutique six screen cinema. There will also be Australia’s first rooftop Urban Farm within a shopping centre environment.

Ben & Jerry’s is excited to open a new Scoop Shop in Melbourne’s brand new environmentally-friendly shopping centre set to open later this year.

Bathed in natural light and flushed with fresh air, Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre will be the ultimate retail environment. The regeneration project is led by Fraser Property.
