Fastway Couriers Raising Awareness and Funds For Mental Health

With one in two people in Australia experiencing a mental health condition in their lifetime the services and programs provided by beyondblue are vital – which delivery network Fastway Couriers is proud to be supporting.

In recognition of the impact of anxiety and mental health conditions on the transport sector, Fastway Couriers announced beyondblue as its chosen charity nationwide in October last year.

Today at the Fastway Couriers Wollongong depot the delivery network proudly presented a cheque of $28,414 to beyondblue.

“Anxiety and depression is a very real and serious issue for the transport and logistics sector. Fastway is very proud to be supporting beyondblue and its vision of everyone in Australia achieving their best possible mental health,” said Fastway Couriers CEO Peter Lipinski.

“At Fastway Couriers we’re passionate about giving back to the community. At our national conference last year our franchisees identified beyondblue as the charity they would like to support and in October we were very pleased to announce beyondblue as our official chosen charity. Since then we’ve been focused on raising awareness and much needed funds to support beyondblue,” said Peter Lipinski.

Fastway Couriers set a goal of raising $20,000 by the annual Fastway Convention in March. The network exceeded its target raising a total of $28,414 for beyondblue over the past six months.

The money was raised through a range of fundraising events including BBQ’s, trivia nights, silent auctions and other initiatives.

beyondblue thanked the Fastway network for its support.

“We are so grateful to have the Fastway Couriers network raising awareness and much needed funds to help support good mental health in Australia. The money raised will go directly towards funding beyondblue’s important work in giving all people in Australia the information and support they need to achieve their best possible mental health. We thank Fastway Couriers’ franchisees, couriers and customers for their incredible support,” says beyondblue Speaker Michelle Bunder.

“It’s been wonderful to see so many of our franchisees, staff and customers get involved through hosting BBQ’s and trivia nights in their local communities. We congratulate the entire network on its fundraising efforts over the past six months supporting this incredibly important cause,” adds Peter Lipinski.
