Traditional beauty academy receives a makeover

Class is in session for beauty therapists across Australia, with the launch of Australian Skin Clinics’ cutting-edge education facility, The Advanced Skills Academy, which is now a registered training organisation (RTO).

Based on the Gold Coast but offering courses nationally, the new-look training academy offers state-of-the-art technical equipment, trainers with real world experience and a platform for personal development. Students can learn from professionals who specialise in the field of medi-aesthetics, with courses available both online and onsite.

The Advanced Skills Academy General Manager, Sarah Lehmann, said that while there is a place for traditional learning environments, the new-look training academy will bring industry and education closer together.

“The medi-aesthetic industry is so much more than skin deep, it’s a thriving services industry that requires high-level skills and a suitably high-level learning environment,” said Sarah.

“The Advanced Skills Academy offers concentrated courses, with highly experienced trainers in an exciting environment that is structured to replicate a clinic environment, rather than a training school.”

Courses, including many that are nationally recognised qualifications, are currently available for beauty therapists in management, health, business, beauty and laser, with specialised training in advanced micro-dermabrasions, government approved laser safety, class IV laser training in hair removal, skin rejuvenation and superficial vascular treatments.

Australian Skin Clinics Managing Director

Australian Skin Clinics Managing Director, Deb Farnworth-Wood, said the addition of an education arm was a natural progression for the franchise.

“Australian Skin Clinics has always prided itself on employing technicians who are highly skilled, professional and, above all, compliant with government regulations,” Deb said.

“This high level of technician quality across the brand is largely due to the training department of Australian Skin Clinics, so we’re pleased to now be offering our courses externally through The Advanced Skills Academy.”

All beauty and aesthetic training is designed to provide participants with a unique and exciting hands-on experience, improve client communication skills, and assist in the understanding of skin response.

The Advanced Skills Academy Training

This registered training organisation, The Advanced Skills Academy is expected to further cement Australian Skin Clinics’ position as an industry leader, adding to the franchise’s many accolades including placing in Vogue’s Top 20 Medi-Spas (2014), Emerging Franchise (2014) and BRW Fast Starters (2014 and 2015).
