A Sprinkle of Love, Smiles and Sugar: Make-A-Wish Australia Kids Decorate Cakes for Mum’s Special Day!

In a delightful and delicious celebration, The Cheesecake Shop and Make-A-Wish® Australia hosted a special ‘Mother’s Day Cake Decorating Workshop’ for Make-A-Wish children and their mothers.

This colourful instore workshop welcomed wish kids Eve and Rose and Rose’s twin sister Lily in to design and decorate their own individual Mother’s Day cake using The Cheesecake Shop ingredients, expressing their gratitude to their mothers in a unique and heartfelt way.

The event was led by Robina franchisee Malcolm Flowers who is known in the local community for hosting unique and memorable experiences and workshops.

The workshop provided the children with the chance to give back to their mothers for all they do, resulting in vibrant and artistic cakes, while experiencing the hustle and bustle behind the scenes of The Cheesecake Shop in-store bakery.

Under Malcolm’s guidance, the children sprinkled their love and imagination through cake decorating, creating beautiful and mouthwatering gifts for their mums.

As The Cheesecake Shop embarks on a three-year partnership with Make-A-Wish, they pledge to continue infusing joy, along with sprinkles, into the lives of families supported by Make-A-Wish.

Reflecting on The Cheesecake Shop Cake Decorating Workshop, CEO Scott Bush said: “It is our privilege to be able to give back to these families who have faced immense hardship. Offering these children an opportunity to explore their creativity, crafting cakes for their mothers is more than just a sweet adventure – it’s a heartfelt expression of gratitude for their mothers’ steadfast support, love, and dedication throughout their journeys.

“This workshop not only unleashed the children’s creativity – along with an abundance of sprinkles – but also provided precious moments for them to bond with their mothers in a joy-filled environment”.

Make-A-Wish Australia CEO Sally Bateman said that the decorating workshop was a fun and creative way for some of our wish kids and their families to come together ahead of Mother’s Day.

“It’s a wonderful example of the shared commitment The Cheesecake Shop and Make-A-Wish has when it comes to bringing much needed fun and joy to the lives of wish kids and their families.

“We are so grateful to The Cheesecake Shop for their belief in our important mission and we look forward to their continued support of our wish program.”

This collaboration is part of The Cheesecake Shop’s commitment to spreading joy and celebrating life’s important moments, while also supporting Make-A-Wish’s mission to grant life-changing experiences to children with critical illnesses.

The Cheesecake Shop and Make-A-Wish are thrilled to be offering special moments for Make-AWish families across Australia and New Zealand through a three-year partnership that will see ongoing opportunities for customers, franchisees and team members to get involved through donations, volunteer support and community activations.
