Clean Up Australia is calling on Australian businesses to Step Up and register their teams to participate in Business Clean Up Day on Tuesday 2 March 2021.
Business Clean Up Day provides businesses with a quick and simple way to demonstrate local and industry leadership. It’s the ideal opportunity to actively support local communities, increase team cohesion and demonstrate corporate social responsibility. Through their participation, businesses are helping deliver lasting change at a time when it is more important than ever to help clean up our environment.
As more businesses adapt to flexible and remote work arrangements this year, there’s never been a better time for teams to get involved. A Business Clean Up Day event is a powerful team-building activity, helping staff foster team spirit and promote sustainability.
In response to COVID-19, Clean Up Australia has implemented a range of new ways businesses can get involved – varying from simple one-off clean up events, to hosting competitive multi-site corporate challenges or booking in for virtual team-building sessions to inspire and motivate employees to reduce their environmental impact.
“With an increase in single-use plastics and disposable items during lockdown periods, there has never been a better time for Australian organisations to Step Up and look for impactful ways to support our communities,” said Clean Up Australia Chairman, Pip Kiernan. “This year, we also want Australian businesses to Step Up and think about the positive changes they can make for the environment every day, whether that’s reducing single-use plastics, using packaging with recycled content or reviewing procurement policies – every small change helps.”
“Australian businesses can demonstrate a commitment to their community on Tuesday 2 March. Of course, anyone who is unable to join a Clean Up this year can Step Up by donating to help us all year round,” Ms Kiernan said.
100% of funds raised go towards the provision of free resources and clean up materials to schools, youth groups and communities, all year round.
