Byron Bay Cookies is launching its franchising system globally. The Australian leading gourmet biscuit producer, that also has offices in the UK and the US, introduced its franchise models in 2012 and already has six retail stores across Australia, including four franchisee-operated concession stores located within David Jones Foodhalls in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. “After the success of our existing retail stores, we thought the timing was right to extend our retail footprint in Australia and abroad,” said Gordon Slater, Chairman of Slater International, parent company of Byron Bay Cookies. Byron Bay Cookies has put its 22 years’ experience in product development and operations to good use in creating a simple and easy to operate store franchising system which applies to both Australia and offshore markets. Their existing franchised stores already have a huge patronage of regular walk-in customers and distribute Byron Bay Cookies products to retailers and corporate clients in their exclusive surrounding territory. In addition to their famous selection of deliciously decadent cookies, the new store model offers their signature blend of single origin coffee, a savoury range, a ‘Pick & Mix’ selection of customised, coated or chocolate-enrobed biscuits, colourful macaroons, and other tasty treats. Franchising will allow Byron Bay Cookies to meet the growing demand for its cookies, and as such will complement its current distribution model. “Franchising will help us to fill a gap in the marketplace, and we strongly believe this new retail model will allow us to create a new shopper experience by connecting with customers in a different way and open new possibilities for growth“, explained Gordon Slater.
