Choice Hotels Australasia welcomes new General Manager, Development

Choice Hotels Australasia has appointed Daniel Kitch to the position of General Manager, Development, which will see him focus on portfolio expansion for Australia’s largest hotel franchisor.

Kitch brings more than seven years’ experience in the hotel industry, including a tenure with Quest Serviced Apartments where he was integral to the group’s development.

Kitch’s new role will see him responsible for the ongoing progress of the business’ growth strategy, lead the development team on new property recruitment and retention of existing properties and reposition and rebrand properties as required.

Choice Hotels Australasia’s CEO, Trent Fraser, said Kitch’s appointment was the logical next step to continue the accelerated trajectory of the hotel franchise group across Australia and New Zealand markets.

“We are delighted to have someone of Daniel’s calibre join our team. His previous experience and desire to make a real difference to our hotel owners and improving their business is really exciting in a time of significant growth for the Australasian arm,” he said.

“With a proven record of success, he is well placed to assist in developing our franchise network and further strengthening our relationships with key stakeholders, franchisees and suppliers.”

Kitch said he is eager to begin implementing some new strategies to strengthen Choice Hotel’s brand presence across Australia and New Zealand.

“Choice Hotels is a well-recognised global brand with a defined strategy both locally and internationally – the excitement and opportunity for growth and development is substantial, I’m looking forward to utilising Choice Hotels’ proven business methods and my expertise to maximise business productivity and competitiveness,” he said.

“I’m also really excited about the culture. Choice Hotels has a reputation in the market for developing and nurturing its people. The company’s values and corporate responsibility aligns with my own values and ethics.”
