New Zealand’s most successful mobile coffee franchise is coming to Australia.
Recently acquired by Retail Food Group (RFG) The Coffee Guy was founded in 2006 in New Zealand and is now the largest mobile coffee franchise in that country, running over 50 mobile coffee vans, two drive thrus and one stand-alone kiosk.
RFG will be bringing The Coffee Guy to Australia, with plans to have a mobile coffee van in operation from as early as next month.
The Coffee Guy Operations Manager Jo Mansfield said that The Coffee Guy will fill a gap in Australia’s growing mobile coffee market.
“RFG has recognised The Coffee Guy’s strong business model and realises the potential for a cost effective, highly efficient mobile coffee van in Australia,” said Jo.
“There is definitely a gap in the Australian market for an innovative low entry cost, high quality mobile coffee franchise.”
While there are already a number of mobile coffee vans operating in Australia, Jo said that The Coffee Guy’s point of difference lies in the design of the van and the strong business model behind the franchise.
“The Coffee Guy’s vans are specially designed to be cost efficient for operators, with a gas powered engine making for a quiet van with no fumes and greater energy saving benefits,” said Jo.
“We believe that with this innovative van design and the strength of support offered by RFG there is room for over 200 mobile coffee vans across Australia.”
