PASSIONATE footy and Eagle Boys pizza fans are urged to pledge support for their favourite teams at halftime of the State of Origin’s first game Wednesday night (May 28).
The network has launched its Facebook competition “EB’s Half-time Shenanigans” to celebrate the first game of the series with the biggest fans to receive an Eagle Boy pizza party delivered to their home for game two.
“Pizza and footy go hand in hand, and we’re excited to drum up excitement with our Facebook followers as the 2014 State of Origin series begins,” Eagle Boys National Marketing Manager Ellen Gault said.
“We have two pizza parties to give away – one for the biggest Queensland-based fan, and one for the most passionate New South Wales fan. Each pizza party includes five pizzas from the EB’s Classics, Favourites , Finest or Pizza Pies ranges, two Garlic Breads, two Cheesy Pizza Breads, four packs of Chicken Products, three 2L drinks and four of our decadent Dessert Thingies.”
Entrants must “like” Eagle Boys’ Facebook page, and upload a photo via the competition’s entry form from halftime until the following morning on Thursday May 29.
“The fans must show their team spirit and include a Queensland or New South Wales reference in their photos, while also using as much creativity as possible,” Miss Gault said.
“We want to see how excited they are that the 2014 State of Origin series has begun.”
Eagle Boys stores in Queensland and New South Wales will also be getting in the spirit by decking their stores out in their teams’ colours.
“As an Australian franchise that was born out of regional Australia, our East Coast stores are really passionate about the State of Origin series. Game nights are one of our busiest nights of the year, and we’re expecting this year to be bigger than the last,” Miss Gault said.
Entries will be posted on Eagle Boys’ Facebook page the day after the first game where fans will be asked to vote for their favourite submissions. Winners of EB’s Half-time Shenanigans will be announced on the Friday prior to the second State of Origin game; June 13.
