Fastway Couriers franchisees will be delivering over 379,500 flowers free of charge this week for Cancer Council‘s annual Daffodil Day fundraiser.
The delivery network has been supporting the annual fundraiser since 2011 and this year Fastway Couriers has confirmed it will deliver over 1265 packages of fresh daffodils to Cancer Council NSW volunteers across NSW.
Daffodil Day raises much needed funds to support Cancer Council NSW’s leading research, advocacy, prevention and support for the many Australians affected by cancer. An impressive $5.6 million was raised in Daffodil Day 2016.
Fastway Couriers CEO Peter Lipinski says the company is pleased to be supporting such an important cause.
“This year marks the sixth year Fastway Couriers has been supporting Cancer Council NSW’s annual Daffodil Day fundraiser. With half of all Australians diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, most of us know someone affected by this terrible disease. Daffodil Day raises funds for vital work in research, support services, advocacy and prevention programs and we’re so pleased to be supporting the initiative again this year.”
“It’s wonderful to see so many of our franchisees and customers getting involved and supporting this important fundraiser in their local communities. We look forward to delivering thousands of fresh daffodils to Cancer Council NSW volunteers and doing what we can to help make Daffodil Day 2017 a huge success.”
Lyndsey Rice, Director of Fundraising at Cancer Council NSW has thanked Fastway Couriers for its ongoing support.
“Daffodil Day is an important event on the Cancer Council NSW fundraising calendar and we are so grateful for Fastway Couriers’ ongoing support. Each year Fastway Couriers go above and beyond to deliver our fresh daffodils to our volunteers across NSW, helping us raise much needed funds to work towards a cancer-free future.”
Fastway Couriers franchisees participating in the initiative this year include Sydney, Northern Rivers, Wolongong, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Canberra, Gold Coast and Tamworth.
