Fastway Couriers drives its support from Launceston to Melbourne

Today, Fastway Couriers Launceston will travel more than 500km to Melbourne in a bid to deliver 48 boxes of donated items to Ronald McDonald House in Parkville. The charity drive was organised by the Launceston community to support the local Knox family who regularly stay at Ronald McDonald House with their daughter Lizzy when she seeks medical treatment in Melbourne.

Over the past eight weeks, Launceston locals have united to support Lizzy, her family and the many guests who will visit Ronald McDonald House, by collecting non-perishable food, linen and other household items to be sent to the charity’s Parkville residents.

Anthony Randall, Regional Franchisee at Fastway Couriers, Launceston said:

“When Craig, one of our Courier Franchisees asked if we could help by transporting the donated items to Melbourne, we were very happy to assist. Together, with the support of Linehaul Express Australia and the team at Fastway Melbourne, we’re pleased to be in a position to provide our courier services.”

Craig Watters, Courier Franchisee at Fastway Couriers, Launceston said:

“Ronald McDonald House, Parkville, is a charity that’s particularly close to the hearts of many Launceston locals, including my wife and I’s, due to its connection with Lizzy and the Knox family. We’ve been very impressed by the generosity of our small community and hope that these items will go some way to helping the guests who visit Ronald McDonald House, feel a little more at home.”

Ronald McDonald House, Parkville provides a ‘home away from home’ for seriously ill children and their families while they undergo specialist paediatric treatment at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. Since its establishment, Ronald McDonald House, Parkville has accommodated over 570,000 guests from all over Australia and even overseas.
