This month, the team at Fastway Couriers has been dedicated to supporting Kiss Goodbye to MS, a month-long event to raise funds for multiple sclerosis (MS). For the fourth consecutive year, the friendly courier experts have been donating their time and resources to picking, packing and delivering ‘Kiss Goodbye to MS’ merchandise across the country. As a result, they’re aiming to raise even more funds than ever before for the charity.
Kiss Goodbye to MS is an initiative by MS Research Australia, which aims to build awareness and accelerate research to create enhanced preventions, treatments and someday, find a cure for MS patients. MS affects more young people than any other acquired chronic neurological disease, with approximately 23,000 sufferers across Australia. The average age of an MS diagnosis is 30 years old, with three out of four being women.
With a fundraising target of $1.2 million, the organisation has been encouraging everyone to get involved by wearing red, organising an event, or stepping out of their comfort zone, to raise much needed funds. This year, the Fastway Couriers Sydney depot is set to host a fundraiser barbeque on Friday, 27 May 2016, with Kiss Goodbye to MS representatives in attendance to deck out a Fastway Couriers van and host a photo booth.
Richard Thame, CEO of Fastway Couriers says:
“We’re very proud to support MS Research Australia’s Kiss Goodbye to MS initiative again this year. It’s a charity which is close to our hearts and we’re delighted to be able to offer our support. MS Research Australia is working hard to find a cure for this disease that affects so many Australians.”
