FIFO machinery doctor brings skills home to Gosford with Hydraulink

A Central Coast man who has honed his mechanical skills servicing and operating some of the Asia-Pacific’s most sophisticated and demanding resources machinery is now to put his extensive experience to use locally as part of the Hydraulink Australia national hose and fittings group.

Jordan Lestrange is ending more than 20 years as a fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) resources industry operations leader and machinery trouble-shooter to begin his new career working for himself at home on the Central Coast as newest franchise in the expanding Hydraulink network of more than 400 service points throughout Australasia.

“I really wanted to get back home closer to my wife and family. With our boys showing an interest in the business and my wife Mel doing the books – and our commitment in the community in rugby league – we would love to build a balanced future for ourselves in the place where we belong. We love the Central Coast, and we want to be here building a strong local business as our daughter and our three boys grow up,” said Jordan, whose last FIFO post was as a Drill Master on a underground Jumbo drill in Papua New Guinea.

Hydraulink Franchise Manager, Wayne Abbott, said Jordan Lestrange’s outstanding skills base and quality attitudes are a perfect fit with Hydraulink’s corporate family ethos of building ethical, highly trained and responsive businesses to serve local communities and their wide base of industry, such as on the Gosford/Central Coast area.

“We knew very quickly during training that here was a man with the drive and knowledge to share our aspirations for our people to succeed, who could help both smaller businesses and larger ones to achieve truly international standards of consistent excellence over many assignments and sites. He has got the tools, backing, training and knowledge to consistently achieve strong performance, safety and Standards compliance and – most importantly – keep valuable fixed and mobile plant running with maximum uptime.”

Hydraulink delivers essential, safety-compliant and traceable hydraulic hose, fittings and services with expertise to industries requiring prompt, quality 24/7 service – either on-site or off-site. The company’s 400+ Hydraulink service outlets throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands focus on providing excellence of skillsets and ongoing training of staff to provide world-class maintenance.
