Fastway Couriers is pleased to announce that experienced business owner, Kathy Smith, is set to lead the Fastway team in Perth as the city’s new Regional Franchisee, effective 1 March 2015.
With a career specialising in retail sales and senior management, Kathy gained extensive knowledge owning and operating a large supermarket franchise, where she managed over 70 staff members. Together with her husband Peter, an experienced operations and strategy manager, the pair are making the move to Fastway to take over the Perth franchise as a Regional Franchisee and Operations Manager team.
“We saw a fantastic business opportunity to join Fastway. With the courier industry booming across the nation and online retailing showing no sign of slowing, we already have plans in place to capitalise on this growth and drive business to our franchise.”
“The pace of change in e-commerce means that today’s online retailers need to stay one step ahead and deliver on their customers’ expectations through effective last mile solutions. Fastway is the courier services provider of choice to the Australian online retail industry and we can’t wait to lead the way in Perth,” says Kathy.
Kathy says her initial focus will be on restructuring and streamlining the operations and logistics of the Perth franchise, in order to enhance efficiency.
“By increasing our training programs, growing our sales team and introducing a renewed emphasis on customer service, our plan is to grow our Fastway franchise to become known as leaders in the Perth courier market. Our area holds great potential for new business, but our initial focus will be on satisfying our existing customers and maintaining Fastway’s motto of delighting the customer at the door,” says Kathy.
Richard Thame, CEO of Fastway Couriers, says Kathy will be an invaluable asset to Fastway not only in Perth, but across the entire network.
“Kathy’s wealth of knowledge and professional sales experience, combined with her management skills, places her in a prime position to add significant value to Fastway’s Perth franchise. I look forward to Kathy joining us and the great things that are to come from her dedicated team,” says Richard.Alongside her professional career, Kathy also puts her time, energy and management skills into fundraising for The MACA Ride to Conquer Cancer, benefiting the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
“I’m proud to support such a worthy cause and give back to the community. Once I’ve got my feet under the desk, my hope is to put together a Fastway team to participate in the event and ultimately raise much needed awareness and funds for a cause that is close to many people’s hearts,” says Kathy.
