Franchising expo announces new dates

The organisers of the Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo have announced new dates for all the shows, which are expected to grow with the increased interest from displaced workers looking to start their own business.

Exhibition Manager Fiona Stacey says, “It has been tough for every business to get through these times. However, we need to start planning for the rebuild and exploring new careers is going to be top of mind for many people.”

“Franchising has traditionally done well in tough times. It gives everyday Australians the chance to work for themselves, but with established brands and systems to make it achievable. It also delivers vital services to cities and towns around the country”.

The Sydney show scheduled earlier this year was postponed only one week out. Stacey said it was an extraordinary time but everyone pulled together to minimize the damage and reset. That show will now run from 13-14 November at ICC Sydney.

Today it has been announced that the Melbourne show scheduled for August will now run from 12-13 March 2021. Stacey said it was possible business events might be allowed by August but it was not fair to participants to take the risk. The smaller events scheduled for Perth and Brisbane have been cancelled and will return next year in their regular timeslots.

Stacey says “We are now focused on making the November show in Sydney a huge success. It will be a chance for everyone to reconnect and restart the journey to running a business. We really want to thank exhibitors and the Franchise Council for working with us to make this happen”.

Clayton Treloar from MBE said he supported the changes. He said “these are extraordinary times but I know the franchising team are working hard to get the shows running again. We are seeing an upsurge in enquiries and I am excited to get back in front of potential recruits”.
