Gelatissimo Opens in Artarmon, Meeting Demand for Dessert in Sydney’s Suburbs

Gelatissimo will soon open the doors to its brand-new Artarmon store on 19th December, marking the 20th NSW store and 44th Gelatissimo store opening in Australia.

To mark the opening, the store will be offering a limited-edition gelato flavour, Artarmon Amore, a creamy raspberry flavoured gelato rippled with a sweet, fragrant sauce, named by a local Facebook fan.

The opening will also be officially celebrated by a ribbon-cutting event on Thursday 21st December at 11:15am, attended by The Mayor of Willoughby, Councillor Gail Giles-Gidney.

Following the brand’s recent domestic and international expansion, the Gelato café in Artarmon will meet the demand for more coffee and dessert options in the area’s dine-in precinct, offering over 20 artisanal gelato flavours made fresh in store daily. Also available will be Gelatissimo’s wider menu, including shakes, gelato cakes and its famous gelato donuts.

The opening comes after Artarmon locals and new franchisees, Simon Ma, Vicky Mak and Peter and Rickie Norris, noticed a gap in the local dining options for sweet-tooths.

“We’ve always loved Artarmon’s strong sense of community and fantastic offering of local cafés and restaurants, but have always thought there was something missing; there isn’t any gelato on offer anywhere”, says Vicky.

“Living on the North Shore, we have always felt part of the community and we really love the area’s vibe”, says Rickie. “The opportunity to work with Gelatissimo happened by chance – we all realised we were in a similar situation, wanting to start a gelato business together. Gelatissimo is a well-known favourite among dessert-lovers of all-ages and puts the concept of ‘family’ at its heart, so fits perfectly into the local Artarmon community.”

Doors open on 19th December, 2017.
