Gloria Jean’s Coffees has raised over half a million dollars for Variety – the Children’s Charity since it partnered with the national not-for-profit in 2011. The funds raised have been used to improve the lives of Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, helping them overcome the obstacles they face, and live life to the fullest.
Gloria Jean’s Coffees owes much of this result to its national fundraising campaign Cappuccino for a Cause organised through its charity foundation With Heart.
This year, Cappuccino for a Cause will run in March with key fundraising days taking place on the 20th and 21st of March 2015. In a groundbreaking move, this year Gloria Jean’s Coffees has also promised to double the usual donation from the sale of the first 65,000 cappuccinos on 20th and 21st March. So a total amount of $1 will go to Variety* together with 40c from the sale of each chocolate heart cupcake.
Angela Saleh, founder of With Heart said, “We are extremely proud to support Variety – the Children’s Charity as they seek to make a difference for children with special needs. Thank you to our guests, team members and Franchise Partners in coffee houses across Australia who passionately support Cappuccino for a Cause and help bring it to life. Together we have raised over half a million dollars for children across Australia enabling them to fulfil their dreams and reach their full potential. Let’s raise the bar for 2015 and support Cappuccino for a Cause.”
Tam Johnston, CEO, Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW said “Over a half a million raised since 2011 is such a huge contribution and has made such a difference to the lives of many Aussie kids in need. I’m pleased to say the funds have helped across a number of our programs, helping Aussie kids achieve independence, gain self-esteem and realise their full potential. This has been achieved through specialised mobility grants for kids and also through Variety’s Scholarship program, to name just a few. On behalf of all the lives touched, thank you to Gloria Jean’s Coffees and their patrons for your generous support.”
