Gloria Jean’s Coffees Responds to WA Bushfires With Heart

With Heart, a Gloria Jean’s Coffees Foundation, today made a $5,000 donation to the Lord Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund (LMDRF) in Western Australia to support the victims of the Waroona and district fires.

The LMDRF is the recognised state emergency fund and provides relief for personal hardship and distress arising from natural disasters.

Gloria Jean’s Coffees (GJC) guests will also be able to assist the communities in Western Australia affected by the bushfires by donating to the LMDRF at any GJC coffee house in Western Australia.

Gloria Jean’s Coffees Managing Director Rick Graham said he has been impressed by the enthusiasm of franchisees and guests in the GJC family to raise funds for the appeal.

“I am extremely proud of our team on the ground in Western Australia, who responded quickly to the disaster and have demonstrated their passion for helping their local communities,” he said.

“Our guests are always generous and willing to help so we are making it easy for them by allowing them to donate to support disaster relief and recovery work at any coffee house in Australia.”

The specialty coffee company, which has 18 coffee houses across Western Australia and more than 340 around the country, is currently in the process of implementing its Bushfire Appeal nationwide.

From 15 January until the end of February, donation boxes in all participating GJC coffee houses throughout Australia will be dedicated to collecting much needed funds for the Western Australian bushfire appeal.

The donations will help the LMDRF provide practical and financial support to the victims of the fires and help them rebuild their lives.
