This year’s conference was held on the 27th – 29th August at the stunning new conference venue at the RACV Royal Pines at the Gold Coast, Queensland. The event saw leading Australian and International suppliers, such as L’Oreal, Hairhouse Warehouse franchisees and keys members of the Hairhouse Warehouse Support Centre come together for three jammed packed days of presentations, workshops, trade expos, gala award nights and other social events.
As reflects of this year’s conference, “We had the highest number of franchisees attending with 96% of the network represented. We had a clear agenda of not only inspiring our franchisees but providing an invaluable learning and networking opportunity within the group. In 2014 we are all about best practise, pushing the boundaries and striving for excellence, innovation and team work in everything that we do.” Arthur also explained about the new conference name “The House of Hair” which is now the centrepiece of our new marketing positioning going forward. Through extensive market research and development we have designed an exciting new look that will better resonate with our busy, ever dynamic consumer.”
“The conference also provided an opportunity to celebrate our collective brand achievements, and clearly define our point of difference in the marketplace. We have been working hard with our suppliers to achieve these amazing results; with Halo achieving +24% growth, Dare +20% compared to last year, and Make achieving an impressive 1,700 units per week. Our aim is achieve 40% of Hairhouse Warehouse sales with our collective brands and we believe that is achievable with our strong marketing and close supplier relationships. With celebrity hair stylist, Clive Reeves also now on board as our Halo Brand Ambassador, we have a very strong innovative offering to our consumers.”
“We were also very excited to have launched at the Conference, Curious Grace, a new, quirky, on trend and fun electrical brand as part of our collective group, pitched to the young 15 to 30 aged Australian women seeking a more price competitive hair electrical range. We are very confident this new brand will fit an unfilled need in the market place.”
Another key part of the Conference was the Premi Awards night – where franchisee excellence is awarded. With the help of Neighbours newcomer, Olympia Valance, presenting the awards and Anthony Mascolo, founder, hairdressing icon and creative extraordinaire of TIGI Professional from the United Kingdom providing an the outstanding hair and fashion catwalk to create the glamour of the evening. The awards process involved over 240 hours of due diligence and analysis looking at areas of leadership, management and excellence. Each finalist was individually assessed, to ensure that the worthy winners were selected, so competition with franchisees for these coveted awards is fierce. The five judges on the panel are chosen from their extensive experience within the group.
