The Franchise Council of Australia welcomes the appointment of Dr Michael Schaper as the independent reviewer of the Franchising Code of Conduct by the Minister for Small Business, Housing, and Homelessness, the Hon Julie Collins MP.
As a former Deputy Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and former ACT Small Business Commissioner, Dr Schaper brings invaluable expertise to this critical review of Franchising Regulations and the Code of Conduct.
The FCA values the opportunity to be working with the independent review that will be
conducted by Dr Schaper and continues to work with government to represent the interests of our members.
We look forward to working with the minister and independent reviewer to continue the conversations we started from presenting the 2023 State of Franchise Report last week in Canberra.
Franchise Council of Australia CEO Mr Matthew Monaghan states, “We look forward to
working with our members to ensure their voice and what matters to franchise is heard in the review process.”
“Franchising is the backbone that supports businesses in many communities and
we are committed to ensuring that all challenges and concerns are addressed and considered as part of this independent review to champion the success of Australian business.”
The Franchise Council of Australia welcomes this independent review and looks forward to working closely with Dr Schaper over the coming months as the review process is carried out.
