Jamaica Blue Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Two Golden Bean Awards
Jamaica Blue has been acknowledged by the best of the best in Australia’s coffee industry, winning two Bronze medals in the 2012/13 CSR Sugar Golden Bean awards.
Held in October on the Sunshine Coast, the Golden Bean awards coincided with Jamaica Blue’s 20th anniversary celebrations that saw the brand thank customers for their years of support.
For the second year in a row, Jamaica Blue’s signature coffee blend, characterised by a well-balanced body and delicate chocolate aftertaste, received the Bronze Medal in the Espresso category. Judges of the Chain store (milk based) category were also impressed with the classic taste of Jamaica Blue’s signature blend, awarding the brand a Bronze Medal.
One of three trademarked Jamaica Blue coffee blends available in-store every day, the Golden Bean award-winning Signature Blend is made from 100% Arabica beans sourced from five of the world’s most renowned coffee regions – South America, Ethiopia and India, Brazil, East Timor and of course, the Caribbean.
Serge Infanti, Managing Director of the Foodco Group – the Australian food franchise company that owns Jamaica Blue, Muffin Break and Dreamy Donuts – said that it was very rewarding to be acknowledged as a stand-out coffee producer at the Southern Hemisphere’s largest coffee roasting competition.
“These awards are a testament to the hard work of the entire Jamaica Blue team, including our baristas, franchisees, head office team and of course, our coffee guru and Master Roaster Fred Vains.
“We are proud of these awards and are confident our customers are enjoying the new-look Jamaica Blue cafés that are rolling-out across Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore and the UAE. More than ever, these new stores are bringing the exotic smells, tastes and sights of the Caribbean to passionate lovers of fine coffee, who appreciate the heritage and integrity of the Jamaica Blue brand,” said Mr Infanti.
