Jim’s Mowing hits the road in support of Movember

This Movember, Jim’s Mowing are hitting the road and growing hairy in an epic journey to support men’s health.

The ambitious MoAthon, will see over 150 Jim’s Mowing franchisees growing Mo’s while pushing a traditional Aussie lawnmower over 2,740 kilometres from Hobart to Brisbane, to raise much needed awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.

Setting off from Hobart on October 28, the Jim’s team have travelled up through Tasmania and across Bass Strait on the Spirit of Tasmania, arriving in Melbourne on November 1st before making their way along the coast of Victoria into NSW, stopping at regional towns along the way.

Supporting local moustaches and raising important awareness for men’s health through regional Australia, the MoAthon team is now making their way up the East Coast of AustraliaAfter 32 gruelling days, 2,740 kilometres and countless blisters, the MoAthon will come to an end in Brisbane, just in time to celebrate the massive effort at Movember Gala Parté on Thursday 28 November.

Greg Puzzolo, Divisional Manager of Jim’s Mowing spearheaded the initiative, with support from the Movember team.

“Last year we managed to mow the world’s biggest Mo at Avalon airport in Victoria, and this year we wanted to do something even bigger to raise even more awareness for men’s health issues,” said Greg.

“The MoAthon is a fantastic way to support the Movember initiative – we’re bringing awareness about men’s health issues to regional areas throughout the country, supporting the growth of local moustaches and raising funds for this important cause along the way.

“Our franchisees have been on board every step of the way – literally! Over 150 Jim’s Mowing franchisees have participated in the MoAthon.

“We’ve met fantastic people, been welcomed into many communities and have had conversations with many people who have been touched by men’s health issues.”

Impressed by the Jim’s Mowing support, Movember Country Director Jeremy Macvean commented,

“The enthusiasm and dedication the entire Jim’s team have shown Movember is incredible. Their commitment to raise awareness for men’s health goes above and beyond and we are blown away by their enormous effort to coordinate not only a group of Mo growers, but the epic MoAthon also. We are extremely proud to partner with such a passionate group who are truly helping to change the face of men’s health.”
