La Porchetta is pleased to announce the signing of a Proactive Compliance Deed with the Fair Work Ombudsman.
The Deed was developed early this year in response to complaints lodged against one of the group’s franchisees.
Under the terms of the Deed, La Porchetta will further strengthen its compliance procedures to ensure all the group’s franchisees are meeting or exceeding their obligations under the act.
New measures will be introduced across the board, including additional induction training, ongoing review and regular audits.
CEO of La Porchetta, Sara Pantaleo said,
“We value the staff who work in our restaurants very highly and we expect all of our franchisees to pay their staff correctly and be fully compliant with the Fair Work Act. We have worked closely with the office of the Fair Work Ombudsman to further strengthen our internal processes and ensure all our franchisees are fully compliant going forward.”
“The Fair Work Act is now more complex than ever and for this reason, we have reviewed our induction and ongoing training procedures to make it easier for franchisees to comply.”
In her statement, the Fair Work Ombudsman, Natalie James acknowledged La Porchetta’s positive and co-operative approach, saying it showed corporate responsibility to a large number of employees and that it is heartening to see companies recognise the importance of great relationships with staff.
“We have a good working relationship with the office of the Fair Work Ombudsman,” said Ms Pantaleo. “We thank them for their support and their assistance with helping us to move forward.”
