Leading North American franchise system, Extreme Pita, is bringing its highly successful ‘fast and healthy’ food concept down under, with its first Australian outlets opening in Sydney over the coming months.
Since its founding in Canada in 1997, the brand has experienced rapid and large-scale growth across its home country and into the US, firmly establishing itself as a leader in the North American quick service retail market with 350 stores and counting.
A success story that Australian Master Franchisor, Gary Blyton, puts down to Extreme Pita specialising in ultra-healthy ‘fast food’ including pita “pockets” and pita-pizzas (flat baked pitas), salads and all natural smoothies.
“Starting with our delicious signature, secret blend-baked pita bread as a base, these are then made into ‘pita pockets’ or low-cal ‘pita pizzas’ with customers choosing mouth-watering fillings or toppings of lean proteins and sautéed vegetables with fresh salads.
“With zero fat used to cook our food, plus lots of salads, vegetarian options and calorie-counted kids meals on offer, health-conscious consumers can relax safe in the knowledge that their food is not only ‘fast’ but healthy too.
“And to reassure our customers, the nutritional content of each meal, including calorie and fat content, is displayed transparently in each store,” explained Blyton.
Having first encountered Extreme Pita several years ago while visiting family in Canada, Blyton is over the moon to be bringing the concept back home, with four company-owned stores set to open soon across various locations in Sydney.
“Over the coming months we have ambitious plans for expansion nation-wide, and with our New Zealand operation pipped to open in 2014, we are now looking for enthusiastic and disciplined franchisees with a passion for healthy eating to open their own successful ‘greenfield’ sites.
“Our training program is extensive and comprehensive, with new franchisees receiving initial training in company stores before being supported every step of the way with the opening and running of their own store,” said Blyton.
