Leading Retail Franchisor to Expand Global Network

Australia’s largest multi-food franchisor Retail Food Group (RFG) has today unveiled plans to stimulate renewed network growth across the country. The global food and beverage company has set its sight on expanding its global franchise network to 3,500 outlets.

RFG this year exceeded the 2,500 outlet milestone, with around 800 of those located internationally in high growth markets including the USA, Asia and the Middle East.

In addition, 2016 marks the public Company’s tenth year since Listing and tenth year delivering record results to its shareholders; milestones that have RFG CEO Gary Alford calling on motivated, business-savvy operators to consider opening a brand new café, patisserie, bakery or pizza shop with the Group.

“RFG has had a momentous year in 2016, and we think now is the perfect time to expand our family as we look towards our next major milestone – 3,500 outlets worldwide,” said Mr Alford.

“We are currently offering some great incentives to open one of our brand new stores in locations across the country, backed by the support, training and experience of one of Australia’s most successful franchisors.

“For a limited time only, we’re offering discounts of up to $25,000 on the upfront costs for some of our major franchise systems, which are highly recognisable, iconic Australian brands.”

Mr Alford believes the Company’s growth will have a positive impact on the domestic economy, creating new jobs in local communities as well as business opportunities for those looking for work or a career change without the need for formal retraining.

“RFG’s 1,700 domestic outlets employ in excess of 25,000 team members, with each new outlet creating anywhere between 10 to 20 new positions in a local community,” said Mr Alford.

“We’ve seen a lot of industries on a downward trend, particularly in mining and manufacturing, but retail remains steady and can provide great returns for a motivated and competent operator.

“With interest rates at record lows and the busiest period for retail fast approaching, there has never been a better time to back yourself and invest in your own business.”

RFG’s prominent position within the franchising industry has recently been recognised on national TV, with several of its franchisees featuring on Channel 7’s newest business program, The Franchise Show.
