For the love of potato!

Eagle Boys is doing its bit to keep the needy warm this winter by donating 646kg of sweet potato to OzHarvest across three states NSW, QLD and VIC!

In a bid to help out communities in which it operates, Eagle Boys donated enough sweet potato to make in excess of 20,000 bowls of soup to serve up as a tasty winter warmer for those in need.

National marketing manager of Eagle Boys, Ellen Gault said, “After discontinuing one of our products, we decided to offer our excess sweet potato stock to this amazing charity as sweet potato really emulates that hearty homely food that people crave in winter time and it is both delicious and nutritious all at the same time!

“We are really glad we can share this around by donating lots of cartons across the three states to benefit as many people as possible. I would encourage all FMCG companies to think about how they can help over winter, especially when a little food donation can go a long way through charities such as OzHarvest.”

Melanie Hart, operations coordinator from OzHarvest Brisbane agrees, “A little bit of food does go a long way in helping out people in need and thanks to companies such as Eagle Boys donating vast amounts across our states, we can help out so many vulnerable women, men and children up and down the country.

“Last month alone, we redirected 23,000kg from landfill so we really do encourage businesses and individuals to give what they can. Everyday, our refridgerated vans collect quality food from restaurants, cafes, hotels, supermarkets, wholesalers, airline caterers and corporate kitchens across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Adelaide. This food is then redistributed to 500 charities nationally.”
