Michel’s Patisserie announces partnership with The Great Australian Bake Off

On your marks, get set, bake! Cake connoisseurs are turning on their tellies to LifeStyle FOOD’s The Great Australian Bake Off, and what better way to celebrate than with cake.

Australia’s leading patisserie brand Michel’s Patisserie has announced its partnership with the popular baking show, which went  to air on Foxtel’s Lifestyle FOOD on Tuesday 11 October at 8:30pm.

Bakery Café Division Director, Alicia Atkinson, said the partnership will see the introduction of an exclusive ‘Taste Of The Great Australian Bake Off’ range, that has been specially crafted by Michel’s talented chefs.

“Our patisserie chefs have been busy in the kitchen designing the new range, which will consist of a combination of signature and newly developed products,” Alicia said.

“The new products have been uniquely crafted to fit with the show’s weekly baking themes, giving customers at home a real taste of the show.

“To celebrate the first episode and this week’s ‘cake’ theme, we have chosen to profile our signature Rosette Cake that features delicious layered sponge with delicate hand-piped rosettes.”

Alicia Atkinson said the first series of The Great Australian Bake Off was hugely successful, so the brand is looking forward to the partnership and being able to communicate with a new audience.

“This show is a great fit for the brand as their viewers are predominantly inspiring bakers, people that have an appreciation for delicious cakes, and people that love to cook but don’t have the time so look to purchase store bought products instead.”

The 10-part series will once again be judged by culinary icons Maggie Beer and Matt Moran, who will be testing 12 bakers on their technical skills, creativity and overall baking brilliance.

Each week’s episode is themed and broken down into three key baking categories: ‘signature’, ‘technical’ and ‘show stopper’.

The signature bake is to highlight the contestants’ uniqueness and can be a tried and tested recipe; the technical bake is a surprise on the day, where contestants need to follow a recipe using ingredients that are given to them; the show stopper is based around a theme, where the contestants need to showcase their personal flair.
