MOTTO MOTTO LAUNCHES ‘KYOTO’ AMID THE COVID-19 CRISIS

Brisbane’s Motto Motto has launched Australia’s first Japanese meal kit and ready-made meal brand called “Kyoto” where customers can dine in, at home. The brand has come to life amid the global COVID-19 crisis. Although still operating, Motto Motto is ulitising their team and manufacturing capability to develop a range of delicious Japanese meals that will be available through contactless home delivery via Kyoto’s website and through the supermarket channel so diners can enjoy quality Japanese food from the comfort and safety of their own home.

Motto Motto Group Managing Director, William Liu said, “We are very pleased to be able to bring new products to alternative channels and keep our team and production facility in operation. We are providing contactless home delivery of Kyoto meal kits and are seeking to bring Kyoto to independent supermarkets and grocers where they know their customers don’t just want convenience, but also restaurant quality food when dining from the safety and comfort of their own home”

The Kyoto range includes Crispy Fried Japanese Karaage Chicken with authentic curry sauce and three make at home ramen kits, all being served with premium tender pork belly. The range includes a signature Classic Ramen, Red Ramen for chilli lovers and Black Ramen for garlic enthusiasts. All the recipes have been created by Motto Motto’s Executive Chef, Ryuji Tomihara.

Liu added, “We are always seeking to innovate at Motto Motto and we see the current situation with COVID-19 to be able to do just that, bring to life new concepts and new products through utilising our innovative and agile team”

With Kyoto, Brisbane residents can eat quality Japanese food to dine in, at home. Orders can be made directly through the Kyoto’s website and delivered every Tuesday and Friday in and around the Brisbane metropolitan area.

The group’s Head of Brand & Marketing Matt Fickling said, “Japanese cuisine is very popular, especially among millennials. We know that this pivot in our business model is meeting a gap in the market – particularly for premium at home ramen. When buying Kyoto, customers get dine in quality 12-hour cooked pork super broth at home, in just five minutes!”

Motto Motto set up their production facility in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley in 2019 as they set to re-define a new standard for casual dining by creating a unique Japanese inspired restaurant brand. The facility is HACCP certified and headed by the Quality Assurance Manager, Matthew Moore. Just late last year the brand announced plans to franchise the brand with an ambitious national growth strategy.

For customers to order direct from Kyoto’s website, prices start from $8.99 per meal. Orders can be made by midday Monday for Tuesday delivery and midday Thursday for Friday delivery for the Brisbane metropolitan area.

Motto Motto has secured wholesale customers for Kyoto and are seeking expressions of interest from other interested retailers and distributors around Australia.
