Winners at the sold out event, proudly sponsored by NAB included Debb Meyer from Narellan Pools who was recognised as Franchise Woman of the Year, Anthony Hamod from Fastway Couriers Wollongong took home Franchisee of the Year – two or more staff, with Field Manager of the Year going to Adam Moody from Wendy’s Supa Sundaes.
Other winners included Anthony Stahl and Daniel Mesiti from Boost Juice Bars and Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill who were awarded the Multi-unit Franchisee of the Year accolade for the second time, and Fiona and Danny Harvey who took out the award for Franchisee Community Service, the second of the night for Narellan Pools.
Anthony Stahl and Daniel Mesiti said entering the awards was a great chance to identify areas of their business that were particularly strong and areas that may need more focus.
“It (the submission process) allowed us to think about each individual part of our business in more detail. It gave us a really great snapshot of where we’re at. The submission is quite thorough. When you identify gaps in your business, you want to chase them. It keeps you looking to the future,” they said.
Anthony Hamod of Fastway Couriers said the award would be shared with his staff. “They’ll feel like they’ve won this right along with me. They’ve all already been text,” he said.
The evening at Four Points by Sheraton was particularly sweet for Franchise Woman of the Year, Debb Meyer, who said the support she has received has allowed her to have an amazing career in franchising. “This award is representative of the things women can achieve. We really can do extraordinary things. Determination and self-belief is something I’m really passionate about,” she said.
All winners from the event at the Four Points by Sheraton now qualify as finalists for the NAB FCA National Excellence in Franchising Awards. The Gala Dinner will be held at Jupiters Hotel and Casino on Tuesday 22 October at the culmination of the National Franchise Convention.
