Netball Queensland and The Coffee Club have announced a new major partnership, which will see The Coffee Club become the Naming Rights partner of the Queensland Firebirds and partner of Netball Queensland’s grassroots ANZ NetSetGo programme, which is designed to encourage participation in junior netball.
Demonstrating a commitment to the game of netball as a whole, The Coffee Club will also become the Official Ball Partner of the ANZ Championship in 2016.
2015 has been an incredibly successful year for the Queensland Firebirds who collected three trophies during the season; the Challenge Trophy, the inaugural Australian Conference title and in a thrilling finale, beating the New South Wales Swifts 57 – 56 to take out the 2015 ANZ Championship in front of a sell-out home crowd in June.
Queensland Firebirds and Netball Queensland Chief Executive Officer Catherine Clark said the new sponsorship recognises the team’s outstanding success and contribution to raising the profile of netball in Australia.
“Both the Queensland Firebirds and The Coffee Club have come from humble beginnings in Brisbane, proving to be leaders in their respective fields,” she said.
“The Firebirds and The Coffee Club are iconic Queensland brands and it’s an honour for us to join forces in this exciting partnership.
“Signing this sponsorship agreement with The Coffee Club highlights their belief in the future success and longevity of our Queensland Firebirds team and the ANZ Championship League, as well as the importance of nurturing participation at the grassroots through the ANZ NetSetGo programme. We are looking forward to working with The Coffee Club to build on our success and take Netball in Queensland to the next level. ”
The Coffee Club CEO Jason Ball said they are excited to partner with Australia’s leading female sport.
“The Coffee Club is thrilled to be on board with Netball Queensland as Naming Rights partner of the Queensland Firebirds and State Sponsor of the ANZ NetSetGo program. As Australia’s largest home-grown café group, we are proud to be associated with one of the most popular female sports in Australia and New Zealand, and committed to supporting not only the current Queensland Firebirds, but also the Firebirds of the future,” he said.
“The Coffee Club is also excited to be involved with the world’s premier netball competition as the Official Ball partner, across Australia and New Zealand in the ANZ Championship league. There is a very strong and clear alignment of our brand values, our customers and the opportunities presented by our new Netball relationships. ”
Ms Clark thanked previous Firebirds sponsor Mission Foods for their valued contribution to the team.
“We are extremely grateful to Mission Foods who have been the naming rights sponsor of the Queensland Firebirds since 2010.” she said.
“During this time, the Firebirds have had great success including winning two ANZ Championship titles.”
