Online shoppers and small business owners are starting to benefit from Parcel Connect, a new parcel pick up and drop off service. Available from convenience stores, petrol stations and other retail outlets throughout the country, it’s now easier than ever before to send and receive parcels.
Andrew McKenna, General Manager at Parcel Connect, says the introduction of this service will hugely benefit customers.
“Rather than online shoppers rescheduling times for missed deliveries, their parcel is automatically delivered to their local Parcel Connect agent so they can pick it up at a time that suits them. There are no post office queues and customers can purchase other essential items while they’re there. It’s also possible to quickly and easily send a parcel anywhere in the country or organise a return to an online seller via the new Parcel Connect website,” says Andrew.
Due to a high level of interest from customers and retailers, more than 200 retail outlets have already signed up to offer the new in-store service, with an expected network of 1,000 Parcel Connect agents to be announced by the end of the year.
Parcel Connect is pleased to advise that customers can easily find their nearest Parcel Connect store by visiting the Parcel Connect website. Customers can also register their email address and postcode to receive notification as local outlets open in their area.
“The growth of online shopping has led to an increase in parcel deliveries in and out of residential areas and a rise in the number of parcel returns. Added to this, customers are time poor and need a solution that suits their busy lifestyles. Realistically, they can’t always be at home to take delivery of purchases or line up at a post office during office hours,” says Andrew.
“Small business owners who operate from their homes or premises could also benefit from the ease and affordability of Parcel Connect. They can purchase delivery labels online, print and attach them to the parcels, then drop off at the local Parcel Connect store for collection by your friendly Fastway Courier Franchisee. It couldn’t be easier,” says Andrew.
For the owners of convenience stores and retail outlets who trade outside normal business hours seven days a week, Parcel Connect offers a new source of revenue and a way to drive more traffic in-store. The space requirements are minimal and collecting a parcel is as simple as the store attendant checking the customers’ ID, scanning the delivery label barcode and handing over the parcel. It’s a win for store owners and a win for customers,” says Andrew.
