Pizza Capers Gets Pizza The Action in WA
Major gourmet pizza player Pizza Capers has its sights set on the west coast, opening its first store in the state late last month. The popular gourmet pizza retailer chose not to open its first Western Australia store in the city, but instead identified regional South Hedland as the ideal location for its pioneer outlet.
Pizza Capers South Hedland opened with a bang earlier this month, achieving record opening week sales.
Pizza Capers started in 1996 as a change from the ‘cheap and nasty’ takeaway flooding the convenience food market. Using fresh, restaurant quality wholesome ingredients, Pizza Capers prides itself on offering an interesting and varied gourmet menu.
Expanding quickly from its South East Queensland origins due to the popularity of its generously topped pizzas, Pizza Capers has spread across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Northern Territory.
With business booming at the new South Hedland store, Pizza Capers Managing Director Peter Jones is confident the rest of Western Australia won’t be far behind.
“We’ve identified sites for outlets in Albany and Kalgoorlie, and are now looking for motivated locals to take on ownership of the franchises before they open,” said Mr Jones.
“We are confident these locations will produce high volume stores, replicating the success we have experienced at South Hedland.”
As well as creating new business opportunities for pizza loving locals, Mr Jones said Pizza Capers expansion would bring new jobs to the state.
“With three stores set to open before the end of the year, we will be hiring more than 60 team members in Western Australia in roles varying from pizza makers and delivery drives to store managers and customer service staff,” said Mr Jones.
“We have found regional communities respond well to Pizza Capers’ range of generously topped gourmet pizzas and delicious flavour combinations, and our outlets provide a busy, fun working environment.”
