A Queenstown gym that’s part of a worldwide fitness brand has proved itself among the ‘best of the best’ less than two years after opening.
Based in Queenstown’s The Landing at Remarkables Park, Snap Fitness beat off stiff competition from 49 clubs around New Zealand to take home Franchisee of the Year at the annual Australasian Snap Fitness Business Summit in Sydney.
The Queenstown club also sparked a fitness frenzy by taking home the International Franchisee of the Year Award at a gala dinner in Las Vegas, selected from over 3000 Snap Fitness clubs worldwide. The prestigious award was one of just five presented on the night.
Owners Kurt Monkley, Adrian Mumford and Daniel Parsonage are “over-the-moon” with the new shiny trophies on display at their 24/7 Frankton base.
“From the day we signed up for our franchise here, we’ve been committed to bring a community feel to the fitness scene,” says co-owner Kurt.
“Our aim from the start was to create a friendly and comfortable environment with positive staff members and world-class equipment, and we’re confident we’ve achieved that.
“We’re passionate about providing excellent customer service to ensure members actually enjoy coming to the gym and are thrilled with the results they achieve.
“We’ve created a fantastic and supportive gym community in a relatively short period of time, helping us triple our membership numbers since opening in March 2015. A lot of credit for this goes to our staff for maintaining a great vibe with locals and visitors.”
The fitness centre employs six fully-qualified personal trainers with over 30 years of combined industry experience, experienced in specialised training (rehab or prehab) and strength and conditioning for weight loss.
Visitors to Queenstown can also enjoy the facility and equipment using a reciprocal membership agreement with Snap Fitness clubs from around the globe.
Personal trainers themselves, Kurt and Adrian moved to Queenstown to launch the franchise as a natural progression for their careers, alongside fitness enthusiast Daniel who co-owns several businesses around New Zealand.
“We carefully selected the club’s location – easy to get to and with plenty of free parking. With the new Eastern Access Road extension to Hawthorne Drive now underway, our club will only be easier and more convenient to get to from all areas of Queenstown,” says Kurt.
The 420sqm gym is open 24 hours a day, offering state-of-the-art equipment and an online service with access to personalised workouts and meal plans, inspiring e-books and helpful tips.
The Landing consists of 19 shops adjacent to Remarkables Park Town Centre’s 55-plus businesses, Queenstown Airport and the newly-opened Ramada Hotel, in an area widely regarded as the new commercial and retail hub of the Queenstown Lakes district. It has been designed with ample customer car parks with spacious green surrounds and relaxing gardens for al fresco dining, boasting panoramic views of The Remarkables mountain range.
The Landing’s company director Lindsay Williams said Snap Fitness had demonstrated that a premium location combined with world-class facilities and first class customer service proved a successful formula time and again.
“Congratulations to Snap Fitness on its remarkable achievement in being recognised as one of the best Snap Fitness clubs out of 3000 worldwide,” he said.
