Say Cheese!Cake takes the cake

She’s a clinical psychologist that loves gelato, and now Hampton East local Lillian Nejad can add Trampoline Gelato ‘flavour creator’ to her repertoire… and maybe even her CV!

Taking the “chef’s hat” for her Say Cheese!Cake flavour idea, entered as part of Trampoline Gelato’s ‘Create The Flavour, Own The Flavour’ summer campaign, Lillian Nejad needed no incentive to head in store for a treat and a little culinary creativity.

Inspired by her love of “rich and decadent” classic New York style cheesecake, the gelato-fiend brainstormed the flavour during a regular family outing to her local Trampoline store in Brighton.

To be rolled out in stores nationally from today, Tuesday 1 April 2014, the winning flavour, which was up against four other finalists and selected by public vote, is a cheesecake-lovers’ delight; yummy cheesecake base with a mix of chewy chocolate cookie chunks slathered in a rich dark chocolate sauce. Delish!

Dreaming up over fifteen combinations to add to the already flavoursome line up at Trampoline, Ms. Nejad says Peanut Nutter, Coffee Crunch and Classic Choc are the usual suspects for her Trampoline Gelato choice… but not for long.

The newly crowned Flavour Champion (and her family) will literally bask in gelato glory, eating through a 10 litre home supply of the cheesy, chocolatey flavour and also earning profits from the result. For the first month that Say Cheese!Cake is available in store, the clever creator will earn $1 for every litre sold across the country.

After being shortlisted and checking out the competing flavours, Lillian thought taking out the prize would be a long shot. Of learning the news, she was ecstatic.

“I am so happy to hear I’m the winner…. It’s such a fun thing to have happened,” she said.

She doesn’t think the Trampoline Gelato will last long in her house, but plans to share the love around with a BIG Trampoline Gelato celebration.

And, she may even be reconsidering her career: “If you need a flavour consultant in the future, you know who to call,” she added.

With a current ‘foodie’ trend taking Australia by storm, the popularity of cooking shows and the rise of the homegrown MasterChef, Trampoline Gelato CEO Stan Gordon says the brand was keen to explore a campaign that called for fans to get involved and express themselves.

“Lillian’s flavour creation, Say Cheese!Cake is fantastic and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share it around and roll it out to all of our stores across the country,” he said.

“Adding a fresh new addition to our tasty and gourmet flavour line-up, created by a loyal Trampoline customer and a true gelato lover, is such a perfect result.”

“I’m hoping Lillian will have me over to help her celebrate and assist in devouring some of her several litres of gelato!”, he added.

Comprised of two phases and running for eight weeks over summer, Trampoline’s ‘Create The Flavour, Own The Flavour’ campaign received a whopping 3,000 entries in store and close to 1,000 public votes and support from gelato enthusiasts across the country.
