Signarama Franchise in Australia Celebrates 20 years of Success From Small Shop to Major Supplier of Quality Products
In November 1998, Ross and Pam Wade opened Signarama® Dandenong, a franchise located in Victoria, Australia. Having just recently celebrated 20 years of business success, the Dandenong franchise is still going strong.
Over time, Ross and Pam relocated to larger facilities, and in April 2004 it achieved $1million in sales. A year later, the couple was inducted into Signarama’s International Hall of Fame. “It seems like only yesterday that we started this franchise, and over the years we have built a great team,” said Ross.
“We discovered the key to success was knowing and retaining the employees that shared our goals and were committed to success. The same was true for customers, as we learned not to be afraid to let go of ones that were not a good fit.
“The initial franchise was the first group of stores in Australia, and although the Signarama brand was well-established in the US, the Wade’s have seen Signarama grow from a small budding franchise to Australia’s largest network of sign franchises. “The mentor system of United Franchise Group was great to help us meet early challenges and help our franchise grow,” commented Ross. “It has made the path of development much smoother, and we look forward to the next 10 years with excitement. “We plan to stay in the business, but step back a little over time and rely on our team. At 67, I can’t see myself retiring anytime soon.”
There is currently a network of more than 100 stores throughout Australia, and the next focus of growth is into the regional areas of the country. “We’ve shown consistent growth year over year since entering the Australian market and the future looks very bright. We are now looking to expand further into regional areas as well as converting existing sign and print businesses that want to leverage off a strong brand” said Evan Foster, Signarama Australia National Director.
