Sky-high with Pretzels
Australia’s busiest airport welcomed tasty new resident Pretzel World to its extensive new-look dining precinct last month. As part of phase one of the broader redevelopment of Sydney’s International Terminal, the new Pretzel World store opened its doors on 24 January 2015 in the bigger and better T1.
The international terminal, which sees over 13 million passengers pass through each year, has undergone initial developments with extensive improvements to continue to roll out over the coming months which will seek to accommodate the airport’s huge influx of international travellers, and cater to holiday-makers and travellers’ needs – especially in the food and drink category.
Pretzel World was selected to join the airport’s new and improved food precinct thanks to growing popularity and its fresh, tasty, healthy and quality offering. The store opening is the brand’s first foray into this high volume market and will provide a great ‘taste test’ for overseas interest in the lead up to its expansion into the UAE in the coming months.
The move for Pretzel World into the airport’s international food court will not only see the brand expand its everyday offering; but will also offer a beer choices.
Pretzel World CEO, Stan Gordon says the opening in Sydney’s T1 airport terminal is a great addition to the Australian Pretzel World offering, and an exciting step in the right direction as the brand continues to investigate overseas efforts.

Pretzel World Sydney Airport is owned and operated by international SSP, a global food operator who provides food and beverage offerings in over 29 countries.

Gordon added, “Things are really looking great for the Pretzel World brand. Who doesn’t enjoy a sweet treat or to try something fresh and tasty when they’re travelling … and it’s healthy at that! We’re in the business of snacks and treats, and launching Pretzel World at Sydney’s International Terminal is going to mean plenty of hungry travellers are being well looked after.”
