Smartline retains title of Australia’s Number One Franchise
Smartline Personal Mortgage Advisers has maintained its reputation as the franchising benchmark, retaining the title of Australia’s top franchise.
Topfranchise.com.au ranked Smartline number one in its latest top 10 list released last week, following a comprehensive survey of franchisees from some of the best known franchise systems across the country.
Smartline has held the number one ranking since 2009.
Smartline took out the overall award by performing consistently well across all awards sub categories and placed first in four of the seven survey categories – support, financial, lifestyle and willingness to refer.
Smartline Managing Director Chris Acret said the group was honoured to have taken out the award again, particularly in light of the fact that the survey was across a range of industries.
“While we’ve always strived to be a mortgage broking leader, we’re thrilled to be recognised in this way within the broader Australian business sector,” Mr Acret said.
“It’s always a challenge to maintain the number one spot, particularly with so many strong franchising systems operating, so we’re very mindful of what an accolade this is.
“I’m also extremely proud of this award in light of the ongoing challenges in our industry and the fact that we have experienced significant internal change as a result of the merger with The Mortgage Gallery earlier this year.”
Smartline and WA-based The Mortgage Gallery merged in April. The combined group has more than 270 franchise owners and loan writers nationally settling over $4 billion in loans per year, and a combined loan book in excess of $18 billion.
“The merger, by all measures, has been a success and the group as a whole has been rejuvenated by the addition of high performing franchisees,” Mr Acret said.
10 THOUSAND FEET and topfranchise.com.au’s Head of Intelligence Ian Krawitz said Smartline’s result was a major achievement.
“For Smartline, with an east coast-based support office, to go through such a significant change merging with The Mortgage Gallery and to now have a third of the total operation in Western Australia, and come through the other side with the highest of franchisee satisfaction levels is a major achievement,” he said.
“Smartline has a proven business model, the award this time is a testimony to the support they have been able to provide to new franchisees in WA while not losing focus with their existing franchisees across the whole country,” Mr Krawitz said.
Over 1000 franchisees were surveyed by 10 THOUSAND FEET across the franchise Industry. Each franchisee is asked 35 questions in key areas, with the feedback used to benchmark performance in comparison to other franchise systems.
