Bedding retailer Snooze has announced its top franchise performers during its annual award ceremony held recently in Cairns. The annual black-tie event commends franchise achievements and takes time to praise the dedicated teams, as well as individuals, who contribute to the overall success of the business.
Snooze franchise partners, Robert and Sally McLennan from Snooze Mile End (SA) took out the top award for ‘Retailer of the Year’ for the second year in a row. The couple were awarded the prestigious accolade due to consist excellence across all the judging criteria – including customer experience, customer satisfaction, commitment to staff development and profit performance. The couple’s commitment to the brand spans over 20 years in which they have continued to build and grow their business.
“We were thrilled to be awarded Snooze ‘Retailer of the Year’ for the second year running. Having a good financial return on investment is only part of the reward of owning and running our own business; being recognised by our peers is truly the icing on the cake!’ said Sally.
Stones Corner (QLD), Townsville (QLD), Midland (WA) and Traralgon (VIC) all followed closely and were recognised with Snooze’s ‘Excellence in Retailing’ award.
A true testament to the business’ franchise support model, Snooze awarded ‘20 Years of Service’ pins to Danny Craven of Snooze Windsor (QLD), Michael Holmes of Snooze Kawana (QLD), and ‘Retailer of the Year’ award winners Robert and Sally McLennan. ‘10 Years of Service’ pins were also received by Matthew Lane of Snooze Gepps Cross (SA) and Zhong Zhu of Snooze Artarmon and Penrith (NSW).
In addition to the awards evening, franchisees were treated to a host of activities held over three days aimed at encouraging cross business collaboration. The activities included the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to Kuranda and a trip to Fitzroy Island where attendees could visit the Turtle Rehabilitation Clinic, go snorkelling, kayaking and glass bottom boating. For the more adventurous, daredevils could join in paintball, quad biking, whip cracking and even Humvee driving – all finishing with a dinner by fireworks.
Snooze Managing Director Simon Beaty said the conference was the perfect time to share ideas across the 70+-strong network and plan for the future.
Mr Beaty commented, “Our annual award ceremony allows us to give our Franchise Partners and their teams the recognition they deserve, and a chance to celebrate our year-on-year success as a franchised business.”
With continued strong growth over the last 3 years and projected to continue into 2015, Snooze has also confirmed plans to expand to 90+ stores at various locations across Australia.
