Sunny Days Ahead For Sunshine Coast Kids

Winter on the Sunshine Coast is set to get a whole lot brighter with the arrival of Ready Steady Go Kids, Australia’s largest multi-sport and exercise program for children. And it’s all thanks to local resident and mother, Jacinta Blanch.

Ms Blanch was eager to set up her own Ready Steady Go Kids franchise on the Sunshine Coast after noticing there were no similar sports programs for her two-and-a-half year old son in the area.

“I think it’s very important for children to get involved in sport from a young age. It’s a great way to foster their skills, from coordination and gross motor development to teamwork and cooperation,” said Ms Blanch.

Ready Steady Go Kids is a high-energy, specially designed multi-sport and exercise program that teaches children aged from two-and-a-half to six years old the fundamentals of ten different sports while setting them up for their schooling years.

“This program really lays the foundation for a life-long love of sport,” said Ms Blanch. “But it’s not just about the fitness. The qualified instructors teach children a range of important skills which help boost their self-esteem and aid cognitive development.”

“It is fantastic to see the Ready Steady Go Kids program expand into the Sunshine Coast region,” said Ready Steady Go Kids Director, Stuart Derbyshire. “Jacinta is keen to encourage local children to develop a love of sport and I’m sure they will gain a real sense of achievement through getting involved in the program.”

Ms Blanch sees this new venture as an opportunity to help young children recognise their full potential, while being active in a safe and fun environment.

Families are invited to try the program for FREE during the Ready Steady Go Kids Sunshine Coast South open day on Saturday July 12 from 9.00am-11.00am at Caloundra Indoor Stadium, North St, Golden Beach.

Kids can join in the fun during term three on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.30am and 10.15am at Caloundra Indoor Stadium. Additional classes will be held on Saturdays at Kawana Indoor Sports from 8.30am, 9.15am and 10.00am.
