Swimart, one of Australasia’s largest pool and spa specialist groups, continues to expand its team with the appointment of a new Swimart Marketing Manager, Nathan Hallahan. This comes off the back of the appointment of Franchise Development Manager, Alex Johnson in August.
Nathan has vast experience in the pool and spa industry, having previously worked with Zodiac Group Australia as a Category Manager. He was also Portfolio Brand Director with the ASX-listed building suppliers GWA Group (ASX 200) and, before then, Senior Brand and Product Marketing Manager for Fortune 500 company Avery Products.
“I’m excited to be a part of a company that is widely respected in the Australasian pool and spa industry and, indeed, was the first such franchise group to be founded in Australia,” he says. “And, while content continues to be globalised, my objective will be to understand the needs of each Swimart store and mobile franchise, and get those messages out quicker to consumers.”
A senior marketing executive with over 10 years’ experience in the B2C and B2B markets, Nathan has had many career highlights – many in the pool industry.
“For example, I successfully launched Zodiac’s first robotic pool cleaner, and its own branded pressure pool cleaner, which exceeded sales targets by 20 and 10 per cent respectively in Australia,” he explains. “I also launched a new range of pool pumps into the pool care market, achieving 120 per cent above sales target in the first year.”
From pool and spa retailer to agile lifestyle brand
With 73 franchise outlets across Australia and New Zealand, and a fleet of more than 250 mobile service vans, Nathan says Swimart is evolving from a pool and spa franchise into an agile lifestyle brand.
“Swimart doesn’t just sell pool and spa products – it’s a lifestyle destination,” he says. “Part of my role is to reinforce the lifestyle that comes with owning a pool or spa, regardless of a person’s age, income bracket or geographic location.”
Swimart’s Australasian Franchise Manager, Chris Fitzmaurice says Nathan is a self-starter who challenges the status quo to identify and improve business efficiency.
“We have seen this industry evolve significantly over the years, with technology not only driving how pools and spas are maintained and operated, but also the way we communicate with our customers,” he explains. “Nathan has the skills and experience to help us keep at the forefront of both digital, social and traditional marketing. We’re excited by what lies ahead.”
